- Updated: October 10, 2014
THACKERVILLE, Okla. – Bellator Bantamweight Champion Eduardo Dantas faces Bellator Interim Bantamweight Champion Joe Warren in a unification bout as the main event for Bellator 128 in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the Global Event Center at Winstar World Casino and Resort on Friday. Dantas withdrew from a scheduled fight with Warren at Bellator 118 but withdrew from the bout due to a head injury.
The Brazilian champion will see his first action since submitting Anthony Leone with a rear naked choke at Bellator 111. Dantas (16-3) puts his six straight fight Bellator win-streak on the line against the Colorado-native who has won four straight of his own. Warren (11-3) won his last fight in a unanimous decision over Rafael Silva at Bellator 118 in which he won the interim title.
Welterweights collide in another matchup on the main card as unbeaten Michael Page (6-0) seeks his third straight win with Bellator as he faces Nah Shon Burrell (10-4) who is 1-1 with Bellator. Page defeated Ricky Rainey in his last fight on a Bellator Pay Per View in a first round stoppage. Burrell had the opposite result in his Bellator 112 fight against Andrey Koreshkov as he was the victim of a first round knockout.
The other two fights of the evening will be fought at catch weights with a middleweight fight scheduled between Bubba McDaniel (22-8), who has won his last two fights, and Emiliano Sordi (12-4) who has been victorious in three straight fights as both make their Bellator debuts. McDaniel submitted Ron Fields with a rear naked choke in the second round of a fight in July while Sordi dropped Alexandre Oliveira with a first round knockout last November.
The other catch weight fight pits Alexander Sarnavsky (27-2) against Dakota Cochrane (17-6). Sarnavsky lost his last fight by unanimous decision to Will Brooks at Bellator 109 but had one four straight fights prior to the loss. Cochrane is coming off a loss as he makes his Bellator debut coming off a second round loss by stoppage in August to Christos Giagos.
