MULVANE, Kan. – Emanuel Newton retains his Bellator Light Heavyweight Title with a win by submission in the fifth round over Linton Vassell in the main event at Bellator 130 Friday night in Mulvane, Kansas. The win was in a championship come-from-behind fashion in which the champ remained steady as the challenger faded.
Vassell dominated the first two rounds on the mat with a relentless ground attack in which he landed 10 more strikes than the champ and had three submission attempts.
